Introduction to Industrial Use of BK Series Control Transformers

I. Product Principle

The BK series control transformers are dry-type, shell-type single-phase isolation transformers, complying with the national standards of JB/T 5555 and GB/T 19212.3. They are suitable for industrial control circuits with AC 50/60Hz and rated voltage ≤ 660V. Based on the law of electromagnetic induction, the core consists of an E-type silicon steel sheet laminated iron core and primary and secondary windings. By changing the winding turns ratio (following U₁/U₂ = N₁/N₂), precise voltage conversion (mainly step-down) is achieved. Meanwhile, electrical isolation between the primary and secondary sides is realized to prevent high voltage from intruding into the control circuit, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment. The operating frequency remains unchanged during operation, adopting air natural cooling for heat dissipation with a rated efficiency of 97%-98%.

II. Application Scenarios

This series of transformers is widely used in the field of industrial automation, with core scenarios including: machine tool manufacturing (CNC machine tools, machining center control circuits), automated production lines (conveying machinery, robot workstations), power distribution (low-voltage switchgear, control cabinets), metallurgy and mining, construction machinery, chemical and textile industries, etc. It is mainly used to provide isolated power supply for control components such as PLCs, contactors and relays, and to provide safe lighting voltage of 36V and below for equipment maintenance. It realizes voltage adaptation and electromagnetic interference suppression, and is a core supporting component of industrial control systems.

III. Installation and Maintenance

3.1 Installation Specifications

The installation environment shall meet the requirements of altitude ≤ 2000m, temperature -5℃ ~ +40℃, relative humidity ≤ 85% (no condensation), away from strong magnetic fields and corrosive media. Wall-mounted or rail-type vertical installation shall be adopted, with a reserved heat dissipation space of ≥ 50mm. During wiring, the primary and secondary sides shall be distinguished: the primary side is connected to the main power supply with short-circuit protection installed, the secondary side is connected to the control circuit, and the shell shall be reliably grounded (grounding resistance ≤ 4Ω), strictly complying with the specifications of GB 7251 and GB 50169.

3.2 Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Daily maintenance includes regular cleaning and dust removal, monitoring of operating temperature (≤ 80℃), inspection of insulation resistance (≥ 1000MΩ) every quarter, and comprehensive maintenance every year. Common troubleshooting: if there is no output voltage, check the power supply, fuse and windings; if the output voltage is too low, check the input voltage, load and winding short circuit; if there is overheating or abnormal noise, check the load, ventilation and iron core fastening. Before maintenance, cut off the power supply and discharge, and the operation shall be performed by a certified electrician.

3.3 Selection and Safety Points

When selecting a model, it is necessary to match the power (rated power ≥ 1.2 times the total load power), voltage, insulation and protection level. It is strictly prohibited to use beyond the rated parameters, and short circuit on the secondary side is strictly prohibited. If any abnormality is found during operation, stop the machine for inspection immediately. Before reusing after long-term idleness, the insulation shall be tested.

IV. Summary

The BK series control transformers realize voltage conversion and electrical isolation through electromagnetic induction, providing safe and stable power supply for industrial control, and are widely applicable to various industrial scenarios. Standard installation and regular maintenance can ensure its long-term stable operation, meeting the requirements of safe and efficient industrial production.
